New Parking Payment Urged

Published: 19 June 2020

Drivers who want to pay for parking using their mobile phone are being encouraged to sign up for the ‘MiPermit’ service.

MiPermit is replacing Parkmobile as the mobile phone payment service in Sevenoaks District Council’s car parks and on street. MiPermit allows customers to pay via a smartphone app or by text once they have registered with the service.

The MiPermit service will be introduced in Blighs car park, Hollybush Lane, Plymouth Drive, Morewood Close (east and west), Ashley Close, Ashley Road and St Botolphs Road from Tuesday 23 June 2020. It will be rolled out to the remainder of the Council’s car parks and on street pay and display locations from Monday 6 July.

The MiPermit app is available on the App Store and Google Play by searching for ‘MiPermit’.

Details of text payments are printed on the side of the parking ticket machines.

Cllr Margot McArthur, the Council’s Cabinet Member for parking says: “Right now, we are asking drivers to consider paying for their parking by phone for their own safety and that of others.

“Not only is MiPermit is convenient and easy to use, it offers our customers much better value with a lower charge every time they use the service when compared to Parkmobile.”
