Mental Health Support for Ukrainian Refugees

Published: 14 May 2022

The current crisis in Ukraine has brought the experiences of people seeking refuge ever closer. Many of these people will be seeking a place of safety in the UK and will have experienced trauma as a result of their departure.

We know that asylum seekers and refugees are more likely to have a mental health problem, including having higher rates of depression, PTSD and other anxiety problems.

Refugees and asylum seekers are also more vulnerable to developing a mental health problem due to their pre-migration experiences (war trauma) and post-migration conditions (housing, separation, and the asylum process).

West Kent Mind will be delivering free mental health awareness training support for anyone who will be supporting refuges from the war in Ukraine, whether in a professional or personal capacity.

There are 2 dates in Sevenoaks, both being held at SDC Offices

Tues 24 May 10-1pm

Mon 4 July 4-7pm
