Update 4 March - Gas Network Upgrade, Sundridge, A25 Main Road
We’re writing to give you an update on the progress of our work on this project.
Phase 1: New Road to White Hart Pub. We’re pleased to advise you that Phase 1 has now been completed with approximately 310m of new plastic pipe laid, and services to properties renewed and transferred to the new gas main.
Phase 2: New Road to White Horse Pub. Work on this phase has been completed from the junction with New Road to approximately 80m short of the junction with Church Road and the B2211 Chevening Road. The gas main at the junction has been found to be in the middle of the road, so we were unable to continue using traffic lights. We’ll be in consultation with Kent Council to replan this work for a later date.
Phase 3: Weald House to Sevenoaks Garden Centre. Our engineers have laid new plastic mains pipe up to the layby that is opposite the entrance to Warren Farm. This week they will be renewing service pipes to the properties. During the week beginning 11 March, we will be working along the layby. This will allow us to remove the temporary traffic lights for approximately one week. In the week beginning 18 March we’ll need to use the traffic lights again until we reach the end of the work, which is approximately 100m past the junction with Dryhill Lane. we’ll continue to manually control the traffic lights from 7am to 7pm

We understand roadworks can be frustrating. However, the new plastic pipe has a lifespan of 80 years. This means that once our work is done, Sundridge and Brasted residents and businesses will be able to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable supply of gas for many years to come.
